Ted: I had so much fun, just watching everyone else have fun.
Sarah: I'd forgotten what it was like to get out with everyone again - without the kids.
Anna: Such joyful, witty banter at our table, a complete evening out..oh, and did I mention the great food?
Kellie: I didn't know you guys had such a great turnout and spirit for such a small school. We're coming again next year.
Mark: Loved the heads and tails section, the hilarious Burns or Trump section and the local trivia.
Geoff: The usual cool live music Buranda Events have been come to be known for. A real highlight.
Tracey: AWESOME!!!.............PS It's my 4th year in a row.
Danni: My highlight is the table drawing. Framable works of Art.
Centenary Buranda Fest 2018
Please join us for a special Centenary Buranda Fest.
As well as our usual fantastic rides and stalls, this year come to stir up memories with our historical classroom, take a walk through the Memory Lane marquee, or reminisce on one of our school tours.
Satisfy your sweet tooth at our Parisian cake stall, indulge in old-fashioned delights at our Sweets stall, or take home some jam or a beautiful pot plant at the Plants & Preserves stall. For the children there will be fun crafts (slime, anyone?), a petting zoo, sideshow alley and of course lots of rides. Keep your body fuelled with food from our BBQ or Vietnamese Delights stall, and get your caffeine fix at our coffee cart.
This year the fete will be going as green as possible, with prizes for families who bring their own coffee cups, water bottles and bags. We'll have reusable water bottles for sale, and a chilled water drinking station. You'll even be able to take home your own carry bag made from recycled Buranda uniforms!
Solstice Planting & Celebration — Saturday 23 June 2018
Our end-of-term family event this term will combine gardening with midwinter fun.
Mr Bryant is hosting a garden planting session from 2—4pm, and from 4—6pm the P&C will be selling warming pumpkin soup and desserts for a feast on the oval. Mr Bryant is planning a small campfire to add to the winter ambience, and to make some charcoal for his new biodynamic school garden beds.
We'll have some music from one of our parent's bands, Eugene and the Egg, so bring your picnic blanket and beanie and kick back and relax after our gardening working bee. BYO mug for the soup, which will be on sale for $5 (served with beautiful ciabatta bread from Gerbino's Italian Bakery). We'll also be selling hot chocolates and a range of other treats for children and parents, so bring your spare change.
So put the date in your diary: it’s a great chance to make the Cowley St entrance to the school look great, socialise with other school families, and raise funds for our gardening program. Bring gardening gloves and a sun hat for the planting
We’re inviting families to donate desserts to sell. If baking’s your thing please let us know what you’ll bring by emailing email@example.com
Buranda Fest 2017 Photos
The 2017 fete was a record breaker, making more than $18,000 for P&C programs. That’s paid for the school Environmental Education Program, and our music and sports instrument purchases, with change put towards air conditioning the school library.
Thanks everyone for an amazing effort on what was a really fun family day.
Photos taken on the day have now been uploaded to a Google Photo Album. Click on the button below to download photos of your children having fun.
